Heldite Jointing Compound 250ml
Heldite Jointing Compound designed to seal bolted, flanged or screwed pipe joints to prevent leakage in most engineering situations and in plumbing and heating systems.
Heldite Jointing Compound 250ml
Heldite Jointing Compound is a high-performance sealant for preventing leakage of Petrol, Diesel Fuel, Hydraulic Fluids, Oils, Paraffin, LPG’s, Water, Steam and Gases in all branches of Automotive, Auto mechanical, Electrical and General Engineering, Plumbing, Heating and Pipeline Services. Heldite is a thick liquid compound that can be applied to any joint either with or without a gasket.
It will effectively seal bolted, flanged or screwed joints and as it
is in a liquid form it is economical to use and does not tend to squeeze
out into the interior of a joint and cause damage. Heldite is
non-abrasive and will not damage highly machined joint faces; the
combination of thermal, plastic and adhesive factors in this jointing
compound is unique in the sealant formulation. The plasticity combats
the effects of temperature and pressure changes, shifting levels and
stresses associated with the assembly of dissimilar metals such as
aluminium housings bolted to cast blocks. The adhesive factor not only
assists gasket location but has been shown to be an effective locking
sealant for imparting additional security to splines, studs and press
fit bearings.
Being non-abrasive, suitable for use with metals, i.e. steel, aluminium and brass, in combination with dissimilar metals, rubbers etc. Also waterproof, inert and anti-corrosive. Suitable for use with oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, non-potable water, gases and coolants. Unaffected between -40°C to +350 °C. Prevents electrolytic action from the effects of sea water. PASSES COMMERCIAL SPECIFICATION 68-145/I. Resistant to 18% hydrochloric and 5% sulphuric acids.
Coverage: Approximately 16m² per litre
Size: 250ml
Also Available: Heldite Jointing Compound 7ml, Heldite Jointing Compound 125ml and Heldite Jointing Compound 500ml
Heldite Jointing Compound Usage Instructions
Preparation: All joints must be completely clean, dry and free from any cleansing agents or loose material prior to application.
Application: Brush applied
Coats: For screwed joints apply one coat to each mating thread and screw up immediately. Otherwise it is possible to build up extra layers as required.
Drying Time: 20 minutes to 8 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
Re-coating Time: Within one minute or until initial coating becomes tacky depending on temperature and humidity.
Application Temp: Ideally 15 – 25°C
Compatability: Compatible with most metals and rubber. Not suitable for use with pipes carrying potable water or alcohols.
Clean-Up: Clean equipment and brushes with methylated spirit.
