Rustins Caustic Soda Granules 500g

A heavy-duty cleaner which unblocks drains, sinks, plugholes, pipes and other areas required for unblocking waste. Can be used with most materials including metals, plastics, concrete, cement and ceramics. May be corrosive on certain metals including zinc, aluminium and galvanized metals. 

Note: Generates heat in contact with water.

Rustins Caustic Soda Granules Usage Instructions

Drain and Pipe Blockages:

1. Gradually add 250g of Caustic Soda to 3 litres of cold water and stir gently. 
2. The solution will heat up.
3. Pour immediately into the drain.
4. Leave for 20 minutes.
5. Flush with boiling water.
6. Repeat the process if necessary.
7. Regular treatment with a half-strength mix (250g Caustic Soda to 6 litres of water) will prevent further blockages.

Cleaning and Sanitising (dustbins, kennels, stables, driveways etc):

1. Add 1-2 tablespoons of Caustic Soda per 5 litres of water.
2. Scrub the soiled area with solution, then wash down thoroughly with water. 
3. Removes oil and soot.

Paint Stripping: 

1. Add 250g Caustic Soda to 1 litre of cold water.
2. Apply carefully with an old paintbrush
3. When the paint begins to blister, scrape off and rinse thoroughly.
