Rustins Rust Converter is a water based treatment which neutralises rust. It stabilises the surface and forms a protective coating once dry. It seals and primes so no primer is required allowing to topcoat directly. It will form a barrier against water vapour, oxygen and carbon dioxide. Finish is resistant to salt spray and bacterial growth.
Type: A chemical treatment for the conversion of rust into a coating suitable for subsequent painting etc.
Intended Use: For use on corroded ferrous metal in order to facilitate refinishing.
Special Features: Ready to use. Water-based. Inhibits and neutralises rust. Stabilises the surface and forms a protective coating once dry. Rustins Rust Converter will form a barrier against water vapour, oxygen and carbon dioxide to prevent further rusting. Rustins Rust Converter will resist salt spray and bacterial growth.
Coverage: 6-8m² per litre depending on the absorbency of the surface.

Rustins Rust Converter Usage Instructions
Coats: One coat should be sufficient, but see re-coating times below.
Drying Time: 30 minutes
Re-coating time: Rustins Rust Converter will turn any treated areas blueblack as it reacts with the rust. If the area treated doesnt change colour then re-apply after 30 minutes. There is no need to rinse off the first treatment. Apply topcoat after a minimum 3 hours. For best results, paint the same day.Always test on a small area for compatability.
Application Temp. Ideally between 15 – 25°C.
Cleaning: Do not return excess Rust Converter to this container. Brushes should then be cleaned immediately with water. If the brushes become hard, they may be cleaned with Rustins Brush Restorer or Rustins Cellulose Thinners.
Disposal (pollution prevention): Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of waste paints/varnishes /coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.

Hazards: WARNING. CAUSES SERIOUS EYE IRRITATION. Wash exposed skin thoroughly after handling. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF IN EYES; Rinse cautiously with water for several minute. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists seek medical advice/attention.
