Rustins White Knotting Usage Instructions
Preparation: The surface must be clean, bare and sanded smooth. Clean off any excess resin using white spirit and allow to dry. A heat gun may be used (taking care not to char the wood) to draw-out excess resin, then scrape away. If there are cracks or holes around the knot, fill with Rustin’s Woodfiller, allow to dry, and sand smooth prior to applying Knotting.
Application: Using a brush apply Knotting liberally over the knot and surrounding area.
Coats: Apply 2 coats. Do not sand after application knotting.
Drying Time: Allow 1 hour between coats. Re-coating Time: Allow 1 hr after final coat before applying primer.
Application Temp: Ideally 15-25°C. Do not use below 10°C or in conditions of high humidity.
Compatibility: Most types of wood primers may be applied over Knotting, including Rustin’s Wood Primer (White and Aluminium) and Rustin’s Quick Drying Primer and Undercoat. If the knot needs filling, apply Rustin’s Woodfiller and sand smooth before applying Knotting.
